GA Stars Pre-Season Invitational Top Players

Atlanta, GA–Basketball is back in the city of Atlanta and the kids are excited to begin another season of travel basketball. Last Saturday, we got a chance to watch the young GA Stars and A.O.T Running Rebels carry their long lived tradition of being a basketball powerhouse for their respective programs. Let’s check out the top players from the Georgia Stars Classic.

Peyton Marshall F/C 6’10 Norcross High School 2024 (GA Stars)

What we learned is Peyton Marshall has a non stop work ethic and it shows in his body. He has lost 50 pounds to slim up his body and it shows on the hardwood. Peyton uses his body in the post to secure his position and is not afraid of contact. Has good open court speed and is able to to finish under contact. As he expands his game, he will be one of the prospects to watch in his development.

Rhys Cotton G 5’10 McEachern High School 2025 (A.O.T Running Rebels)

One of the better guards in this tournament, Cotton displayed his athleticism, his will to win, and his skill set. Cotton wants the ball and his hands and he makes smart decisions with the basketball. Very quick first step and has the ability to get the basket at any time. At 5’10 Cotton plays big and will take it to the heart of the defender.

Toney Coleman G 6’1 Eufaula High School 2024 (Tri Elite)

Toney was very exciting to watch in the GA Stars Classic, he displayed his athleticism , his mid range, and tenacity on defense. Toney has good ball handling skills, but needs to work on his right hand to be a more effective player. However, Toney was fun to watch all game long as he carried his team back down by twenty points after a slow start. Toney has the potential to be a big time prospect as he continues to develop. One of the better skilled players in the tournament.

John McQueen G 6’5 Westlake High School 2024 (Atlanta Select)

McQueen can flat out ball and he has no fear in doing so. McQueen has a great outside jump shot and has the ability to create shots for himself off the dribble drive. Good on ball defender and has a natural instinct with the basketball. Very rarely makes careless mistakes, however at times he does take ill-advise shots being too reliant on his skillset. Has good strength to finish baskets under duress.

Braedan Lue WF 6’6 Alexander High School 2024 ( )

Lue showcased his rebounding ability and his effectiveness to get to the basket. Great mid range shooter and has good court vision to see the floor.

JD Palm F 6’8 Dothan Preparatory Academy 2025 ()

At 6’8, Palm showcased his unique ability to use footwork in the post.  Has a nice soft touch around the rim and is a great off ball team defender. Defends the rim at all cost and avoids silly fouls.
