Battlegrounds Tournament Recap: Women Stand-outs

Atlanta , GA  –   Some of the nations finest players embarked upon Atlanta to participate in the 7th annual edition of Battlegrounds.   Teams from Alabama , Mississippi , and Georgia handled their business as they fought their way to the coveted Battleground title.  This is what we saw.

#23 Tariah Mouton  5’8 PG   Mississppi Sixers  2016   , Meridan High School …  Strong and capable are not enough to describe the play of  Mouton.  Her 14 pt performance in  the Championship game vs Alabama Avatar  led the Sixers in a 34-31 overtime win. An aggressive move to the basket , resulting in two foul shots with 12 sec left in the game that sealed the fate of the Avatars.  Mouton is a diamond in the rough ,   excellent first step , multi dimensional player , we saw here do everything .. killer cross over , step back 3 pointers , drops dimes like a snitch on a corner.  Mouton is incredible. Although, her team is laden with superstars , Mouton is definitely the motor that makes the team go.  If you dont know now you know.  Mouton is strong enough to fill any major D1 roster.  Mouton is getting vibes from MS State . Dont miss out!!!!  Mouton gets   d1spectslogod1spectslogod1spectslogod1spectslogo .   #D12watch

#14  Mallory Thompson 5’8 Combo Guard  Mississippi Sixers 2017 ,  West Lauderdale, MS    Excellent finisher , sees the floor extremely well,   has a great upside.  Thompson can do it all.  Mid range game is formidable , she understands how to play the game the right way.  Thompson would be a great addition on a mid major to D1 roster.  She is a super star in the making. Thompson is hearing from  Southern MS and Arkansas Pine Bluff. We give Thompson – d1spectslogod1spectslogod1spectslogo.

#34 Tyesha Stevens   6’2 F/C  Mississippi Sixers 2015 , Heidelberg High school.  Stevens – One word … A BEAST.  Stevens is a dominant player , who truly understands how to use her body to her advantage.  In the final four and championship games , she averaged 10 pt and 10 rebounds  per game.   If Stevens can improve her mid range game , she will be a force on the next level.  Stevens gets d1spectslogod1spectslogod1spectslogo

#31 Ariyanna Benjamin 6’2 F ,2017   Sparkman HS Huntsville Al … a major prospect, Skilled  athlete , has shot blocking capabilities , she can post but is more suited for a face up game.   With the right program Benjamin can help any team,.. Interested in UNC and Duke   Benjamin was impressive the weekend , with more work  and a strength regiment, we could see Benjamin at the next level.   d1spectslogod1spectslogod1spectslogo

# 5  Marisa Snodgrass  5’4  Combo G 2017 ,   Westminister Christain Academy  –  Snodgrass is 1/2 of the dynamic duo that we affectionately call  “THE WONDER TWINS”   Snodgrass is a 3 point sniper that became a thorn in the side of the MS Sixers.  4 for 6 from down town , Snodgrass kept her team in the game.  What she gives up in height , she gains in heart and desire to be great.    Snodgrass needs to work on her perimeter defense and overall physicality.  Snodgrass gets  d1spectslogod1spectslogod1spectslogo

#3  Makaylla Bullard  5’4 PG 2017 , Bob Jones High School – Bullard is part 2 of the “WONDER TWINS ” activate.  Bullard was huge down the stretch , hitting the game tying three pointer with 3 secs left in the game. Confidence is not a problem for this young lady.  Quality ballhandler , Bullard is a floor general.  She keeps everyone focused and makes great decisions.  We need to keep our eye on this young lady. She is fun to watch.   Bullard gets d1spectslogod1spectslogod1spectslogo

#21 Miracle Davies  5’6 PG  Dekalb Heat , Druid Hills High School , ATL  Davies is a top of the line point guard , needs some work on decision making ,but when she has her mind made up she becomes hard to stop.  d1spectslogod1spectslogo
