Atlanta- Red alert! Red alert! The defending AAU Girls National Champions loaded up the Family and came to Atlanta to showcase their talent and skill set. It was not a game and at the Memorial Day Classic the We All Can Go 5th Grade Girls exploded on the scene led by their nifty 5’8 all around post player Garen Haney (Black Fox Elementary) Haney was magnificent running the lanes and rebounding, while The Family turned up the defense and not allowing any opponent to score more than ten points.
The Family are coming off a winning their Tennessee State Championship and have not broken stride. It is not like the competition was not strong enough for the Family, it’s more the Family being too strong for the competition. They are a talented bunch led by the defensive stopper Kennedy Cambrige, the skilled Macie Medes, the athletic Teri Reynolds, and the sweet shooting of Jaya Woods. At any given time the girls can catch fire, and like a team of Ants, the Family will wear down opponents until their will is forced.
Just like their Boy counterparts, the We All Can Go All-Stars, the 5th grade girls have taken that dominating attitude and turned it into winning success. While most teams slack off or have trouble finding their groove in the beginning after winning a major championship on the circuit, the girls take no breaks and are gearing up for another successful championship season. Representing Nashville Tennessee, the WACG Family brought the swag, the skill, and do not be surprised if they turn McEachern into their own special showcase on championship Sunday. It does not matter who has the ball, just know they All Can Go!
