Atlanta, GA– The Best of the Best proved yesterday that is not how you start it is how you finish. When you are ranked number one in the state of Georgia, every team will be gunning for you. On Sunday, that team was the feisty Georgia Thoroughbreds.  The Thoroughbreds, dismantled the Bulldogs 20-0 and were confident that on Championship Monday, they could do it again.

However, this time around things will be different. It was a game of inches, and both teams were not giving up any in this dogfight. The Thoroughbreds’ Jeremiah Tilman (E.L Elementary) (Pictured left)  kept up the defensive pressure and played sideline to sideline making key stops. But in the second half, the Bulldogs will find ways to get through that tough Thoroughbreds defense.

Entering the second half in a 0-0 tie, The Bulldogs would look for their skilled play maker Taurean “The Bull” Ellinger (Wynbrook Elementary) for answers. The Bull, scampered for  65 yard touchdown late in the 3rd quarter, but Tyrann Tukes (Avondale Elementary) (pictured right)  would respond with a big 55 yard touchdown run of his own.

With 1:30 left in the ballgame, Taurean would dig deep and make a beautiful cut for a 66 yard touchdown run. Taurean finished with over 200 yards rushing and three touchdowns being named MVP for his clutch overall performance.  The Bulldogs would close out the game 12-6, showing the youth football world why they are the number 1 6u team in Georgia.
