Atlanta-It was the battle we’ve expected, two programs who are familiar with each other coming to the gridiron to battle it out. Coach Nelson told D1Spects before the game, “This will be a test of our running game, but expect to see some good quality action football.”  After a tense early first quarter, the Seahawks were able to get behind their offensive online, unleash Cam Davis (Albany Middle School).  Davis struck gold early for the Seahawks with a  55 yard touchdown run. However, Pittman Park would not break or fold and would use their defense to get back into the game.

Midway through the quarter, Pittman would capitalize off the Seahawks’ mistake. Antonio Moulder would score off a fumble return to tie the game 6-6 with 5:30 left.  On offense Moulder would slice and dice the Seahawks’ defense but Pittman could not score off the big plays.

However, in the 3rd quarter the Seahawks would turn up the juice in their run attack and defense.   The Seahawks defense would force a three and out, allowing Jacob Stallworth to scorch the Pittman defense for a 50 yard run. Davis would score on the next play increasing their lead 14-6.

In the fourth quarter, the Seahawks would find themselves holding a 14-6 lead and facing a fourth and long situation. Trusting their run game, the Seahawks would gamble and it paid off big time. Cam Davis exploded for a 50 yard touchdown scamper to give the Seahawks 20-6 with 7:56 left in the ball game.

The Seahawks’ defense would force another three and out, but will get a little too overconfident in their offensive attack. After a wild pass, the resilient Pittman Park Panthers would intercept the pass and return it for a 30 yard touchdown. After the two point conversion, the Panthers will find themselves only down 20-14 with less then three minutes to play.

But this time around, the Seahawks would take of business and go back to the running attack of Cam Davis to close out the game 20-14. After the win, Davis was named overall MVP, for his three touchdown and 200 yards rushing yards. Nelson told D1Spects, “Cam is my go to guy, who I know I can count on win I need a big play. He is special, a man among boys.” This year looks to be a special year for the 12u Seahawks  and they are off to a great start. As for the future goals for the season, Nelson confidently told D1Spects, “This year I feel like it is National Championship or bust.”
