Atlanta– It is hard to maintain the level of success like the Birmingham Storm program, but their players understand once their name is called, it’s time to perform. Head Coach Bill Harris told D1Spects,”If my players work hard, compete, concentrate, and communicate every game, we’re going to be really good.” Really good is an understatement as the Storm proved that they are one of the best AAU teams in the country.

At last weekend’s 8th Annual D1Spects Atlanta Invitational , the Storm ran through the tournament winning by an average margin of twenty points, even on Friday when they were shorthanded with players. “We were shorthanded but our players know what is expected from them. They are expected to work hard and they were able to take the punches and respond.” Harris stated.

One the Storm became full strength, there was no stopping them. Led by 5’5 2021 PG BJ Harris, 5’9 2021 G GaQuincy McKinstry, and the number one player in Alabama 6’2 WF 2021 Rocafella Taylor, the Storm rocked the Atlanta Invitational Tournament! Their length and athleticism frustrated opponents on the offense with their 2-3 and 1-1-3 zone. Forcing teams to shoot difficult shots and limiting their inside presence. Harris averaged 15 points and 7 assist being name MVP, while McKinstry and Taylor averaged 16 ppg. Kevlon Towsend and Jaquez Wilson showed potential averaging double digits in scoring and rebounding.

After the impressive undefeated run, the Storm are now 30-0 and have won the Battle of Magic City Showcase (Birmingham Alabama), Hoop Quest (Atlanta Georgia) and the Southern Spring Invitational.
