Joseph Moore 5’10 Albertville Middle School 2021
D1Spects- At the Best of the Best Middle School camp, Moore displayed his defensive proneness inside the perimeter and his ability to defend on the outside. He has a high motor and is always attacking the glass for rebounds and put backs. Wasn’t afraid to demand the ball in the post, dives on the floor for loose balls and finishes strong around the rim. One of the better players in the 2021 class.
Improvements– Ball handling skills need mass improvement, needs to improve his footwork and develop his go to move in the post. Also although he has the ability to defend smaller defenders, he can use more lateral quickness to be a complete defender.
Tyrie Ragland 6’0 Mcadory Middle school 2021
D1Spects- Ragland demonstrated that he understands how to use his big body on the defensive side of the ball and has a nose for the ball. Throughout the scrimmages he was always involved in the play somehow, someway. Ragland wasn’t afraid to guard faster and smaller players. In fact he went after the better players in the camp and was a strong vocal leader. Also recognizes mismatches and takes advantage of his opportunity. Averages 16 rebounds.
Improvements- Needs to use his body on the offensive side of the ball and command the post. Has to improve his handles in the open court if he is going to be a point forward or point center. Has a gentle soul that needs to be meaner on the court.
Jaylin Wheeler Floyd middle magnet 5’7 2020
D1spects- Wheeler demonstrated his ability to attack the basket and use his high IQ to make good decisions on the basketball court. He has the ability to knock down outside shots, and has a soft touch around the rim. Plays good on ball defense. Averages 20 ppg.
Improvements- Had trouble finishing plays under duress due to lack of strength. Needs to improve his upper body strength. Also was not consistent with his outside shot, needs to develop a midrange game.
Trey killingsworth 5’7 Millbrook middle school 2021
D1Spects- Killingsworth showcased he has good instincts as a point guard. He was very consistent with his outside shot and his decision making. He has the ability to play solid on ball defense, and stay under control. Averages 14.0 PPG.
Improvements- As a bigger guard, Trey has to be more physical under the rim. Too many times he settled for the outside shot and instead of driving into the lane. Needs to be a physical rebounder.
