Atlanta– The D1Spects Converse Tournament of Americas brought out some of the best teams in the state and one team proved to be the most deadly. The Savannah area has always been a hot spot for talent and the Savannah Tigers have put it together this year with their fifth and seventh grade teams.

Lets stat with their talented 5th graders. The 5th grade Savannah Tigers are now 20-0 including winning the South Georgia Elite Memorial Day Classic and recently the Converse Tournament of Americas. The Tigers flexed their muscles only allowing three points in the 16-3 win over the Yana Magic. The Tigers are one of the early favorites in the 5th grade division to win AAU Nationals. They work well with each other and have no superstars. Just one ball, one team, one goal.

Now their 7th graders are a serious bunch and they come to every basketball tournament focus on nothing but winning championships after championships. One of the best seventh graders in the state, the 7th Grade Savannah Tigers are coming off the South Carolina USDA Championship, USDA Hank Gathers championship and the 365 Hoops Exposure Showcase.

Led by their 6’2 F Brandon Harris (Stem Academy at Bartlett 2019), [pictured below] the Savannah Tigers dominated the Converse Tournament of Americas, capping off their tournament win with a thrilling 46-34 win over the Atlanta Playmakers. Harris averaged 14 ppg and 8 rebounds and showcased that he has good speed in the open court and very reliable in the post.

Still undefeated, the Savannah Tigers’ future looks bright as we head into the second half of the season.
